I love u bro.. also u shouldnt press brake pedal during this process (BMW x1 f48 118d xdrive 110kw 2016)
This video is painful why would you show us all of that crap on how to do it without actually giving a little bit of how with the lights actually fking look like. Like turn on the blinkers turn on the hazards, let us see what the lights do and what it looks like. Geeeeeeze
No bueno. 😅
What size tap is that
I hate fighting things in cramped spaces. I think i had removed the wiper arms, the cowl, everything that was annoying me. The first time I did it, was on a N52 E90 and i was fighting to get it off. I eventually did get tbe cover out but it took too long. The second time, I removed the brackets, cowl, wipers and it went so well. The idea is that you don't want risk the gasket not sitting right. It happened to me on a Mercedes that I did the valve cover and it was a pain. When I got it back together and it was leaking still, I was so upset. I took off the gasket, used window glue to hold it straight and put it back on and sent it 😂. It never leaked again.
LOL, they can be a pain!
@@AskTheCarExperts my wife always makes fun of my time estimation skills. I say the car will be ready in 2 hours. Knowing my luck, something goes terribly wrong and takes 4 to 6 days 😂

Correct :)
I have a problem with the top screw of this handle. It just keeps spinning in place, wont come out and wont tighten anymore like the thread would be damaged. Dont know what to do
Sorry to hear that. Try a magnet, maybe it is just stuck. Or the door panel will need removal.
Roger,What an excellent vid! Just straight to the point with everything! We released a portable air pump. Are you interested in giving a review? We have reached out for an inquiry.
Thank you Vivian! I recently reviewed and air pump. I don't like to do multiple similar reviews. Maybe a different product in the future.

My Volvo wont let go as yet😢
Oh man! Stupid wheel locks! I have had to drill them out. Takes a long time and some good drill bits.
Hi,i changed rim size from 20 to 22 inch of my bmw x5m f85.and transfer case shuddering happens.i run 295/30 22 with 335/25 22inch tyres.someone told me to change front tyre size to 285/30 with 335/25. What would you suggest? I want to run with 22 inch rims. But i dont want my transfer case shudders and slips. But i didnt use after this problem maximum 250 km.reset of transfer case without oil change is helpful?? Bmw is on 70000km.
Sorry to say that changing tire size like this can lead to transfer case failure. I have seen it many times. I would recommend going back to the stock tire sizes and rims and maybe the fluid change will help. Damage to the transfer case can result if not and replacement will be needed.
you are show all details even small thing thank so much,
My pleasure 😊Glad my video helped you!
Hi Oncle, it is possible to build an own wiring harness to light up front fog lights that are missing as stock fabrik? I mean is there a route between glove compartment and Lcm module to run a wire ? Thank you in advance - Hope will get an answer.
Any modification is possible with the right motivation. I don't see how you would get the LCM to power it unless you borrowed power and ground and added a separate switch to activate the circuit. And you would need to run new wires to them.
@@AskTheCarExperts thanks so much I forgot to mention that my car is already equipped with rear fog lights that work normally. Now I have a doubt: it says on the original BMW post-assembly instructions:"If the specified PIN chambers are occupied, bridges, double crimps or twin-lead terminals must be used." At this point what is the best path to follow? I went to the BMW dealer yesterday afternoon to ask about the front cable kit and unfortunately they told me that it is out of production and they don't have it available in warehouses. Thanks again in advance. Umberto
Great video!. Are the pads A-Premium too?, I would like to know how this pads and rotors have been working so far, I will change the rotors of my car soon, Actually I have OEM rotors with Brembo ceramic pads and those have crystallized 3 times in 6 months and are really noisy. I'm considering A-Premium drilled brake rotors instead of basic Brembo rotors. Do you think it's worth it?
Hi Jorge, So far my brakes are holding up great but they are not the Brembo style on my X5. Brake noise is very common on sport brakes unfortunately. The only noise I get is after a rain, and in reverse out of my driveway. But to me that is a normal noise that cleans up after I drive off.
Are these OEM lights from a 2023?
Yes indeed!
awesome video! i was wondering if you are able to do this whole process with the engine inside the vehicle??
Hello, Thanks bud! Yes, this would normally be done with the engine still installed. I don't own a BMW with the N20 at this time but I did have an engine swap on hand to make the video.
Simply an excellent video. You explained all the angels. Reinstalling the final cover it goes in nearly flat, passenger side a little first, so the two tabs go into the slots on the cover. Lots of light shining into the dark places helps. Thanks so much for this you made it easy.
You are welcome! Glad it helped Greg! Thanks for posting a comment!
Hi, how do you know it is not the longitudinal torque module problem?
No quite sure what component is the longitudinal torque module? Do you have a part number for that? Unless you mean the transfer case motor module. I cannot say I have replaced one on a newer BMW. I would have to say the motor module is normally not the failure. Unless you have some odd VIP ICM Steering failures which can bring down the FlexRay Bus. That can be caused the this module. But not this symptom.
Bruh the link in the description is a referral
It might be, but I do not make any commission from them.
After seen your video I have check the voltage on the battery and then on the front but on multimeter it was -0.08 and then realize the cables might be cut and on the back notice that one of the cables was lose. So I manage to start the car now. Just to mention my car only had a click sound when I tried to started. Thanks Bro
That is great!
WOW! 🤯. Okay, now I know🤔! Thanks for the video great information. I had absolutely no clue about the vent valve? 😮. I guess that’s a good reason to keep them under the hood huh? 🤔 Great info! The trim alone takes a “course” to disassemble argh 😣. I just subbed, keep em coming especially the E93 “M” content! 😊
I am glad it helped! Thank for subbing. Those panels are always fun LOL
Would this work on a G21?
I would suspect it would. But for higher functions a Launch or autel would be recommended.
What about brake bleeding ?
I do have some videos on brake bleeding but for a brake job bleeding is not required.
Can some tell me where can I get that inner cover to buy
What cover are you looking for? The sunshade?
@@AskTheCarExperts that black rubber over that he took off the inner door
@AskTheCarExperts in the video that black cover he took off the door and put it on the floor and clean off
Raccoons destroyed my bucket trap 1st night I put it out.
LOL What! That is crazy! I keep mine in the garage but in a covered area it would be good outside, except for racoons!
@AskTheCarExperts I agree. Ì only have a carport and it is close to woods with brush. Raccoons are numerous.
will this video also work on a 2011 335is?
This is for a convertible, if your vehicle is similar it should help.
You are the best brother. I drive a 430i b48 2017. And I hear the same noise. I thought it’s the timing chain.
You are very welcome :)
Watched this video just replacing my valve cover gasket then afterward everything was put back together started leaking all of its oil and smoke came into cabin through the ac vents
Sorry to hear that. You probably rolled the gasket. Very easy to do sometimes...at least I have seen other techs do it :) Best to remove and inspect, replace the gasket if damaged and be careful to inspect to make sure it does not fall out of place when installing.
when you can get an tire air pump for $16 at Walmart i wouldn't get one like this and no need to worry about if it is charged
You can't beat a walmart air pump but you do get what you pay for, I do like the ease of the external battery. No need to use your vehicle battery or the cigarette lighter socket.
Thanks!
Thank you, John!
Have you lost the ability to program tire pressure sensor id numbers into your vehicle computer with your scan tool? The one I bought allowed me to program in the id codes for 2 of my new tire pressure sensors on a 06 dodge grand caravan, but I didn't do all 4 at one time. After I finally changed the other tires, the reader wouldn't connect to the van any longer so I updated the software on the scanner. Now, it will no longer allow me to do anything but see the id numbers. Even then, I have to fight through various menus to get to that point.
That is crazy an update would do that. I would reach out to Launch and see what info you can get.
@@AskTheCarExperts Well I did, and they told me to contact the seller. The seller says it never had the function, despite me making clear that I KNOW it did, because I was able to use it to change two of the sensors before their update. I'd make sure to check the features on yours regularly. I bought mine in September of last year, so I got less than 10 months before they started removing features from mine.
Great video….for some reason it took me forever to get the cover to align on the tabs and fit in place. Realized that I needed to have it nearly level instead of trying to angle it in like a hinge. Thanks for the video.
Glad it helped!
Thanks a lot for your video by watching it yesterday evening Alhamdoulilah I fixed my bmw e39 for no crank no start I put a jump cable to the chasi and to engine and I happy after being worked on it for 5 days my self no crank but your video makes it crank and start Thanks a lot
I'm glad it helped!
Hey Bro couldn’t find anything to contact for personally, I have a question about the n55 engine on the e92 335i, when tho engine is cold I have too much oil pressure, well my dme codes say so, when looking at the pressure itself it looks like it’s peaking at 8.3 bars then dropping to 7.8 bars while the Engine is revving to 4,5k rpm (while driving). Changed the pressure controls valve, new valve cover and pressure sensor, what can I do now ?
Do you get an actual warning in the car or is it just a fault code that sets? When you check your oil level electronically, does the oil level read correctly? Did you replace the oil pressure switch or the oil level sensor?
Thanks
You are welcome :)
Received an immaculate 2009 328ix SULEV with 78k, seized motor. Like, it won't budge even a millimeter. Haven't scanned the car in INPA yet, but there are a ton of codes thrown on my cheapie scanner. P0015, P0012, P1020, P1056, P1224, P1625, P164C. This indicates an upper valvetronic issue, however I wouldn't expect a seizure from that. The yellow coolant and ! come on with the accessory, thinking it may have been an overheat/seize. Had a look in the cylinders with my borescope, and oddly they're not scored. It's a stretch, but, does the SULEV warranty cover engine damage caused by a part that would be covered... like say a failed water pump?
Hello, SULEV would cover failed components if the component that caused the failure is covered. Did you take the belts off and try to turn the engine over by hand?
@@AskTheCarExperts Thanks for the reply, I'll call our local BMW dealer today. Time's of essence too, it's build date is June 26th 2009! No I didn't pull the belts, I just used a 22mm socket on the crank bolt with a breaker bar. It should have moved at least a little bit even with belt tension.
@AskTheCarExperts -- I tried to do the self-bleed routine, the water pump definitely does not kick on. The overflow was empty so I backfilled with some distilled water. I called BMW earlier, they said the car is still under SULEV warranty until August and is due for a PCV recall. LOL, ok. I explained the situation, they said they'd take a look at it for $258. I mentioned my thoughts on the water pump being the root cause for the engine seizing, and it seems he just wanted me to bring it in to spend money and determine a root cause for possible warranty claim. Though after our call, researching the SULEV warranty more, it appears to NOT include the water pump, nor presumably any failures as a result of a water pump failure. I SWEAR I read somewhere that the water pump was covered, but I'm now thinking it was thermostat coverage I saw. Gahh.. this could be a lost cause after all.
Turns out the water pump is good -- I had the heat controls set wrong is all. Once that was corrected, the water pump ran through the bleed cycle. So it seems it's either the thermostat being stuck closed seized it (doubtful), or something mechanical with the timing components that is holding this motor tight.
Hi what model is the aural diagnostic system you are using please. Great video I have ordered two replacement spindle drives and need the aural to check the codes etc. also have parking sensor issues as two have been pushed in from the bumper. Thanks again for the video very helpful information
MaxiCOM MK808BT Pro. My friend just purchased the expensive one with programming. I want to check that one out! I hope the spindle drives do the trick for you!
do you have to hook up a battery maintainer and also how do you access the menu on the dash?
No, I do not like to use those. That keeps power live in the vehicle and creates a possible short and damage.
Hello, I know it’s unrelated but as due to this being your most recent upload I thought I’d ask here. I have a 118i 2018. I was just moving the drivers side mirror and it suddenly just stopped and now none of the drivers door switches are working, nor is the childlock button lighting up. Do you have any idea on what has happened here and what I could do to fix it. The windows work when I hold the badge on the fob and all other windows work perfectly. Any help would be much appreciated!
Hello, This could be a failure of the main switch block or a LIN bus issue. If the windows work from the other door switches I would swap out the driver switch block.
When you perform oil priming procedure, can you remove the fuel injector fuse instead of disconnecting each injector? If so can you tell me the fuse number for a 2013 bmw x5 VIN 5UXZV4C52D0E07865. Thank you.
Hello, There is no specific fuse for the fuel injectors. Power and ground is directly from the DME. You can unplug the low side fuel pump. Or best to disconnect the plug for the injectors at the DME.
Lmao. This is smart
😀
Thank you! Professional and thorough guide.

Changed fluid on transfer box and both Diffs on F25 2013 auto xdrive. Car feels amazing now and shifts quicker and quieter than before considering it’s done 124000m However since changing the transfer fluid I’ve noticed when car heats up it has a slight shuddering feel to it when accelerating up to 3 gear almost. I hope it helps. If not, disconnect the transfer case motor electrical plug and test drive. If the symptom is gone, then the TC would need replacement.
